Microsoft Application Request Routing (ARR) Version 2 localization release.

The English version of ARRv2 was Released To Web (RTW) in November 2009 and today, we are announcing that ARRv2 is being released in following languages:

  • German
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Japanese

They are available for download via Web Platform Installer (WebPI).   The English versions are still available directly from the Download Center:

  • Microsoft Application Request Routing Version 2 for IIS 7 (x86) here.
  • Microsoft Application Request Routing Version 2 for IIS 7 (x64) here.

As many of you know, ARR is an incremental release that includes all the features from version 1, and more significantly, it adds a support for disk based caching.  With this feature, ARRv2 can now be used as a cache proxy to distribute and cache contents, as an edge caching server in Content Distribution Networks (CDNs).

In last 6 months, since the English version of ARRv2 RTW, we had worked with a number of CDNs, video content providers, and ISPs to deploy ARR as caching servers with good success.   We have also learned some good lessons and we will be working on incorporating them in future releases of ARR.

Learn more about ARR and what it can do for you in the following documentation section.

Since this is a RTW product, the support is officially provided by Microsoft Support,  but the ARR forum is also a great place to share knowledge and connect with the ARR product team.

  • Good work! It even allows applications to be deployed in real-time to any client from a virtual application server. And being custom writing paper can say that it can also locally reside at the client computer.
